Love Handle: Firestone Walker

In loving memory of John Bryan

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the next Love Handle. We’re bringing back Firestone Walker in honor of beloved craft beer friend and colleague, John Bryan, who passed away after a sudden stroke in early April.

John was the Central Territory Sales Director at Firestone Walker, which required extensive travel to beer festivals and other events around the country. Everywhere John went he made friends. We'll remember John for his dedication to the craft, his big laugh, and how highly regarded he was by all who knew him.

Prior to working for Firestone Walker, John spent 17 years at Kansas City’s Boulevard Brewing. Starting as a truck driver and part-time salesman, John worked his way up and eventually came to direct the Artisanal Division at Boulevard.

In honor of John and his family, we donate $3 from every glass of Firestone Walker sold to the Bryan Children College Fund. John and his wife, Alice, have two children: Audrey Lee “Drew” Bryan and John "Jack" William Bryan III—John’s greatest sources of pride and joy.

Anyone wishing to give directly to the fund, can do so by sending contributions here:
